RESTYLANE® & PERLANE®

With time the lines on our faces change. The skin’s natural materials, like collagen and elastic tissue, slowly diminish resulting in the deepening of our normal lines and folds as well as flatting of our cheek area and lips.

For decades doctors have been looking for the perfect material to place in these areas giving a safe, fast, and natural looking improvement. Now a product is available that can provide us with all of the things we are looking for.

Restylane® and Perlane® are made of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in our skin, and treatments will fill out lips and cheeks and improve facial wrinkles and facial folds. The improvement you will achieve will last usually from 6-12 months. There will be gradual fading of the results at which point you can return for another treatment.

Restylane® is intended for wrinkle correction and lip enhancement. Perlane® can be used for shaping facial contours, such as cheek and chin, correcting deep folds, and for volume augmentation of the lips.

Impressions of beauty change over time, as do our faces as we age. One of the great advantages with Restylane® and Perlane® is that they are long-lasting but not permanent. You always have the choice to continue or change the combination of treatments, and the procedure can be repeated as often as you like. YOU are always in charge of your looks!

When treating wrinkles or folds, the gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The injected gel gives natural volume under the wrinkle, which is lifted up and smoothed out. A treatment takes about 15-45 minutes (depending on the number of areas treated) and results can be seen immediately.

After treatment you may experience some swelling, tenderness and redness. This is a normal result of the injection and these symptoms generally disappear in two to four days. This method is fast and safe and leaves no scars or other traces on the face.

These products are biodegradable which means that they will gradually be absorbed. As the gel breaks down, water takes its place, and when totally absorbed, the gel disappears unnoticed from the body. How long a treatment holds its effect is very individual. This depends on many factors, such as your age, skin type, lifestyle, and muscle activity.
